At lunch, I was playing around with some photos and Paint (because my work computer doesn’t have anything more sophisticated) and came up with this fun little card.
I think it’s adore-a-bull!

Decided to buy myself a present today with my Zazzle earnings. Since there’s free shipping today, I bought myself a calendar and an embroidered sweatshirt. I needed another sweatshirt and I just love this.
In these days of stress and uncertainty, you can be reasonably certain that grass will grow and flowers will bloom. So we say to you: Keep calm and garden on. The country needs your marigolds, pitcher plants and squash.
As a present to you, I’ve marked this shirt down by 10%! (I would have marked it down further, but Zazzle wouldn’t let me.)
I’ve posted about my dog a couple of times here. Greta Splendens, née Dolce, was adopted from The Washington Animal Rescue League this summer. She is, we think, a bullmastiff mix, although no idea what the other half is as she really just looks like a mini mastiff, with a slightly less smooshed nose. She has been a joy and a half and even when she’s loudly protesting the presence of the garbage truck, I love that she’s in my life. I hope that if you’re looking for a dog, you consider looking past the hype and check out the thousands of bull breed dogs in shelters. Pitbulls, bulldogs, boxers and their mixes make fabulous pets.
If you already have a bull breed, how about helping convince other people? I’m sure your dog is a fabulous breed ambassador, so here are some stamps to help spread the word.
The DC metro area is supposed to get 1-3 inches of snow today. Rural counties were already closing school in anticipation of the snow this morning. The parking lot at the Metro station I ride in from was relatively empty.
It hasn’t even started snowing yet.
Sad thing is that I really can’t mock the area for it any more (which as a former Michigander I used to do) because after almost 8 years of living here, I know how badly the area handles snow. It’s hilly, it’s not plowed well, they don’t salt and no one knows how to drive in it. All I can do is get the hell out of the way of the morons on the road and hope it melts soon and cleanly. One of these days, I’m going to buy this shirt to wear on snowy days.
